New EVPhone 2 announced at EV ElecExpo 2023
HOUSTON – EV Electronics announced the new EVPhone 2—which has a better camera, battery and resolution than the original EVPhone—at its annual showcase EV ElecExpo on March 24.
The EVPhone 2 will be available for $415 in summer 2023. Its exact launch date will be released soon. The EVPhone 2 is the successor to the EVPhone, which has sold over 30 million units worldwide.
“The first EVPhone was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price,” said Dante Woofington, EV Electronics’ senior vice president of worldwide marketing, who presented the EVPhone 2 at the livestreamed event. “The new second-generation EVPhone builds on that great idea and improves on it in every way — including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos — while still being very affordable.”
The EVPhone 2’s enhanced camera includes HDR, quad-LED dual-tone flash, OIS, portrait mode, 4K video at 24/30/60 fps and 1080p video at 30/60/120/240 fps. At 5.94 x 2.98 x 0.33 inches, the EVPhone 2 comes in red, coral, yellow, blue, black or white and features Gorilla Glass, stereo speakers, the fast-charging EVBatteryXL, home screen updates, Face ID and a touchscreen with a resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels, a true-tone display and a wide color gamut.
“With the tight integration between hardware, software and services, the advancements in EV Phone 2 bring an unparalleled user experience at an affordable price to even more customers,” said Veronica Campos, EV Electronics’ chief design officer. “We think people will love it.”
The launch of the EVPhone 2 will be accompanied by the newest operating system released by EV Electronics. Users with OS EV OS can now upgrade to EV OS 5.
“EV OS 5 transforms the most iconic elements of the EVPhone experience, starting with the biggest update we’ve ever made to the Home Screen,” said Zeus Johnson, EV Electronics’ senior vice president of software engineering.
EV Electronics Ltd. was founded by Enzo Perez on Sept. 9, 1981, with the goal of enhancing customers’ digital experiences and currently produces mobile phones, laptops, tablets and headphones.
